Arundel Elementary School Topping Out Celebration
Our MCN Build – Southway Joint Venture Team hosted a topping out celebration at Arundel Elementary School in the Cherry Hill neighborhood of Baltimore. The new school is being constructed directly behind the existing school, which will remain occupied until the new facility is ready for occupancy next year. Over 200 hardworking men and women constructing the new school attended the celebration. Office personnel were also in attendance representing the owner (The Maryland Stadium Authority and Baltimore City Public Schools), the design team (GWWO Architects), and the various subcontractors and vendors involved with the project.
In addition to walking away with full bellies from a Mission BBQ catered lunch, everyone received a complimentary topping out celebration T-Shirt and several lucky workers walked away with gift certificates and other door prizes, which were donated by the subcontractors and vendors. One really lucky worker won a 50″ flatscreen TV, which was donated by the MCN Build – Southway Joint Venture. Everyone that attended was also encouraged to sign an I-Beam, which will be the last piece of structural steel erected on the new school.
