Southway is working on the historic landmark of Baltimore, Lexington Market which is open now and will remain open during construction. The market itself was established in 1782 as just a plot of land with plank stalls for farmers to sell meat, eggs, and vegetables. The building itself was built 1803, and its legacy continued on after a disastrous fire in 1959 with the modern facility that exists today. It has been a part of Baltimore’s history for almost 238 years and we are so proud to be a part of its life and longevity. This project involves partial demolition of the existing market, and construction of a new two-story facility. We look forward to working with Seawall Development and BCT Architects on this exciting project. Rendering by BCT Architects.
