HEALTH INSURANCE

Southway Builders offers medical coverage through two (2) High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) – an in-network only plan and a plan that offers both in-network and out-of-network coverage. The company pays 100% for employees only if enrolled in the in-network plan. Dental and Vision coverage is also available.

HEALTH CLUB REIMBURSEMENT

Southway Builders promotes a balance between work and personal time as well as an overall healthy lifestyle. SWB will reimburse 50% of a health club/gym membership for the employee only up to $50 per month of reimbursed benefit.

HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA)

If enrolled in one of our medical plans, you are eligible to contribute into a HSA where Southway Builders also makes an annual contribution.

Auto Allowance

Southway Builders offers a competitive auto allowance to all Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.

401k Plan

Southway Builders offers a 401k Safe Harbor Profit Sharing plan. Employee contributions and employer matching contributions are 100% immediately vested. Southway matches employee contributions by:

  • 100% up to 3%
  • 50% from 3% up to 5% compensation
  • Profit Sharing is discretionary and follows a graduated discretionary schedule.

Tuition Assistance

Southway Builders encourages employee development and recognizes that it is advantageous to both the employee and the company. SWB will reimburse all or a portion of the cost of the educational class/seminar expense(s) to employees with two (2) or more years of continuous service for the cost of job-related classes/seminars after successful completion.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)

The EAP provides you and your household members with free, confidential, in-the-moment support to assist with personal and professional problems that may interfere with work or family responsibilities.

Southway Internships

Southway offers a rigorous internship program for candidates to apply knowledge gained in the classroom. Our highly sought-after Summer Internship Program is a 12-week (May to August) hands-on learning experience. You will rotate through three core roles in the construction management industry:

Project Engineer, Preconstruction – working with our preconstruction team to gain firsthand experience in conceptual budgeting, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, and final pricing.

Project Engineer, Construction – working on a job site with the project management team to assist with procurement, cost and quality controls, and scheduling.
3
Assistant Superintendent, Construction – working on a job site with the superintendent to gain experience overseeing every step of the construction process, from mobilization through closeout.
You will focus on learning the basics of construction management, while experiencing firsthand what we do and how each project role works at job sites and in the office.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects, shadow experienced employees, ask questions, and gain a wealth of experience. You will be introduced to:
  • Field operations and subcontractor supervision
  • Process, documentation, and scheduling
  • Preconstruction services/cost estimating
  • Quality control reviews
  • Quality take-off and estimating
  • Safety on project sites
  • Coordination with subcontractors
  • General on-site construction labor, and more
Requirements:
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Project Management; strong interest in pursuing a career in construction management
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving techniques
  • Must have reliable transport to travel to various projects
  • Eager and open to learning
