Southway Internships

Southway offers a rigorous internship program for candidates to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to a variety of challenging construction projects.  Over the course of a summer, our interns rotate through three project assignments gaining a well-rounded experience of the various aspects of construction.  One of the rotations is with our preconstruction team gaining firsthand experience including conceptual budgeting, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, and final pricing.  The other two rotations provide hands-on learning in the field through a project management track as well as a superintendent track.

Interns will also be assigned a special project to work on together throughout the summer, which gets presented to the leadership team at the end of the program.  Past projects have included a mock response to a Request for Proposal, design ideas to renovate an office space, and the development of a safety training video for use on the jobsite.   This experience provides interns with additional exposure to the various aspects of the construction industry.
