Southway Internships

Southway offers a rigorous internship program for candidates to apply knowledge gained in the classroom. Over the course of an internship, you will rotate through three project assignments.

Each experience will provide interns with exposure to the various aspects of the construction industry.

  1. Preconstruction – working with our preconstruction team to gain firsthand experience in conceptual budgeting, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, and final pricing.
  2. Project Management – you’ll learn that project management involves organizing and addressing procurement, cost and quality controls, and scheduling.
  3. Superintendent Track – here you will follow a superintendent as they oversee every step of the construction process, from planning to delivery product.

Interns will also be assigned a collaborative special project which will be presented to the leadership team at the end of the program.

Past projects have included a mock response to a Request for Proposal, design ideas to renovate an office space, and the development of a safety training video for use on the job-site.

Internships are posted by February with interviews conducted through March. Upon review, positions will be awarded in April.
