Southway is a construction management firm serving public, private and non-profit clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Founded in 1991, Southway delivers award-winning historic restoration, commercial, multi-family, adaptive re-use and institutional projects. Headquartered in Baltimore, our firm is strongly rooted in the communities in which we serve.
Our Mission: We build and transform people, communities, and buildings, all on a foundation of quality, dependability, and integrity.
We are a diverse team of 100 professionals, who have managed over 7 million square feet of commercial projects and 4,700 multi-family units — all with an outstanding safety record. We consistently achieve the highest level Diamond Safety Award from ABC’s national STEP Program and maintain one of the lowest experience modification rates (EMR) in our industry.
WHAT WE DO
We are proud to be a recognized leader in transforming communities, through genuine engagement with community leaders and residents – with an emphasis on underserved areas. We partner in creating impactful urban design and executing projects that break down barriers and provide quality and sustainable housing, education, healthcare, and workforce development to communities in need.
Our Purpose: We serve others to help them achieve their maximum potential.
Our commitment to transforming communities has generated extraordinary opportunities and allowed us to set a new standard for multifamily housing, adaptive-reuse, and historic preservation projects.
We are humbled by the opportunities that our loyal customers have provided us. We know that comes with expectations of continued high-level production and fairness.
The highest standard we place on ourselves is safety. Since our founding, our safety program has continually guided every step we take on the jobsite. These policies and procedures have resulted in one of the highest safety ratings in the industry.
We believe that every worker has the right to a safe workplace and deserves to return to their family unharmed after every day of work.
To assure that safety policies and procedures are in step with the industry, we employ an in-house Safety Coordinator who provides ongoing training and issues monthly reports, photographs, and recommendations to continuously improve upon our high safety marks.
Southway has been recognized by many of the industry’s top organizations for our commitment to quality, safety standards, and our dedication to collaboration. As grateful as we are to receive these honors, we are especially thankful for the hard-working professionals who diligently provide an honest day’s work and continue to elevate “our” company.
